Service Agreement v1.0 (2026)

Terms of Service & Privacy Policy

This is the agreement every Gone2Day booking is performed under. When you accept a quote by email, you are agreeing to these terms.

1. Parties and Scope

This Service Agreement ("Agreement") is between Gone2Day ("Company", "we", "us") and the customer named on the accompanying quote ("Customer", "you"). It covers moving help, labour-only moves, junk removal, cleanouts, hauling, disposal and any related work described on the quote.

By clicking "Accept" on the quote email, or by allowing our crew to begin work, you agree to this Agreement in full. Only work listed on the quote is included; anything added on site is billed at the rates below.

2. Quotes, Rates and Payment

All quotes are good-faith estimates based on the information, photos and item lists you provide. Final pricing is confirmed on site before loading begins and may change if the volume, weight, access, distance or item types differ from what was described.

Moving help is billed hourly at the stated rate with a two-hour minimum (two movers and a truck included), rounded to the next 15 minutes after the minimum is met. Junk removal is charged as a flat rate per load, starting at $100 and set by the volume, weight and item types actually loaded. Additional charges may apply for: stairs beyond the second floor, long carries, elevator waits, heavy or oversized items (pianos, safes, hot tubs, treadmills), mattress and appliance eco-fees, tire, paint and electronics fees, landfill overweight charges, tolls, parking and travel outside the GTA.

Payment is due in full on completion unless written terms are agreed in advance. We accept cash, debit, credit, e-transfer and business invoicing. A deposit may be required to hold a date and is credited to the final invoice. Unpaid balances accrue interest at 2% per month (26.8% per year) and you are responsible for reasonable collection and legal costs. Returned or charged-back payments incur a $50 administration fee.

3. Scheduling, Delays and Cancellations

Arrival times are estimated windows, not guarantees. Traffic, weather, disposal-site queues, and earlier jobs can shift a window. We are not liable for losses caused by a late arrival, including elevator bookings, closing dates, rental deadlines or lost wages.

Cancel or reschedule at least 12 hours before your window at no charge. Cancellations inside 12 hours, or a crew arriving to a locked, empty or inaccessible site, are billed a $95 trip fee plus any non-refundable disposal booking costs.

We may reschedule or refuse a job for unsafe conditions, including severe weather, ice, aggressive animals, threats or harassment toward crew, unsafe structures, hoarding conditions, or suspected biohazards. In those cases our only obligation is to refund any deposit for work not performed.

4. Customer Responsibilities

You confirm that you own the items, or are legally authorized to have them moved or disposed of, and that no third party has a claim, lien or lease on them. You agree to indemnify us against any claim arising from items removed at your direction.

You must: provide accurate item lists and access details; secure safe parking and building access, permits and elevator bookings; remove or point out anything that must not be taken; keep children and pets clear of the work area; and personally carry all cash, jewellery, documents, medication, firearms, keys and irreplaceable items.

Search all furniture, boxes and bins before pickup. Once items are loaded and disposed of, they cannot be recovered and we are not responsible for anything left inside them.

5. Items We Cannot Take

We do not handle hazardous or prohibited materials, including: chemicals, solvents, fuel, oil, propane, asbestos, lead, medical or biohazard waste, human or animal waste, needles, ammunition, explosives, or contaminated soil.

If prohibited materials are discovered after loading, you authorize us to return them to you or dispose of them lawfully at your cost, plus a $150 handling fee, and you remain responsible for any fines, cleanup or penalties that result.

6. Property, Damage and Limitation of Liability

We carry commercial liability coverage and work carefully, but moving and hauling carry inherent risk. We are not responsible for: pre-existing damage or wear; normal marks from moving heavy items through tight spaces; damage to particleboard, IKEA-style, self-assembled, antique or previously repaired furniture; items you packed yourself; appliance disconnection or reconnection; damage to lawns, driveways, septic beds, walkways or overhead lines from a loaded truck; or electronic data loss.

Where we are responsible, our total liability for any claim is limited to the lesser of the actual repair cost, the item's depreciated cash value, or $0.60 per pound per article, and in any event will not exceed the total amount you paid for the job. Higher-value protection is available only if agreed in writing before work begins.

We are never liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages, including lost profits, missed closings, rebooking costs, storage fees or accommodation costs.

Claims must be reported in writing to info.gone2day@gmail.com within 48 hours of job completion, with photos, before the item is repaired, moved again or discarded. Claims reported after 48 hours are not eligible. No claim is processed while an invoice balance is outstanding.

7. Disposal, Donation and Recycling

Once items are loaded they become our property and are sorted for donation, recycling or licensed disposal at our discretion. You waive any right to their return, sale value, resale proceeds or tax receipt. Charitable acceptance is never guaranteed.

8. Photos and Privacy

We may photograph before-and-after work areas for quality, dispute resolution and marketing. Photos never include identifying faces, documents or address numbers without your written permission, and you may opt out in writing before the job.

Your personal information is used only to quote, schedule, invoice and service your job, and is handled per our Privacy Policy.

9. Force Majeure

We are not liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, flood, fire, road closures, accidents, vehicle breakdown, labour disruption, crew illness, epidemic, landfill or transfer-station closure, utility failure, civil unrest or government order.

10. General

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, and the parties attorn to the courts of Ontario. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.

This Agreement, together with the accompanying quote, is the entire agreement between the parties and replaces any verbal statements. Changes are valid only in writing. Our acceptance email, and your emailed acceptance of the quote, are binding electronic signatures.
