Local moving help in the GTA is usually priced by the hour for a crew and truck. At Gone2Day it's $110/hour for 2 movers and a truck with a 2-hour minimum, so a studio move often costs around $220, a 1-bedroom around $440 and a 3-bedroom around $660 or more before any travel charges. These are estimates; your actual time depends on stairs, distance and how much you're moving.
What drives the total
Volume of belongings, stairs and elevator waits, the distance between addresses, and heavy or awkward items all add time. Being fully packed before the crew arrives is the biggest way to save money.
Crew size
Two movers suit most apartments. For larger homes, 3 movers ($130/hour) or 4+ ($150/hour) can finish faster, which often keeps the total similar while saving you hours.
Travel and fuel
Gone2Day doesn't charge a fuel surcharge on jobs that start in Mississauga. Outside Mississauga, a $0.50/km fuel surcharge applies to the drive from our base. Moves where pickup and drop-off are more than 15 km apart add $1 per km beyond 15 km. Both are rounded up to the nearest $10.
Frequently asked questions
Is hourly or flat-rate moving better?
For local moves, hourly is usually more transparent: you pay for the actual time. Flat rates are common for junk removal, where the price depends on volume.
Should I tip movers?
Tipping is optional and appreciated, but never required.
